Roland HP 702 White Digital Piano

Roland HP702 White — Premium Home Digital Piano with SuperNATURAL Modeling

The Roland HP702 White brings premium piano performance into a compact, elegant cabinet that fits naturally into a living room or apartment. At its core sits Roland's SuperNATURAL Piano Modeling engine, which reproduces the complex physical interactions of an acoustic piano rather than relying on a single static sample. The result is a tone that opens up as you play harder and mellows when you touch the keys gently, mirroring the behaviour of a traditional instrument. The HP702 White is the right choice for pianists who want authentic acoustic feel, modern connectivity, and a furniture-grade cabinet in one instrument.

What Sets the HP702 White Apart

Two features elevate this model above typical mid-range home pianos. First, the SuperNATURAL Piano Modeling engine delivers limitless polyphony on piano-category tones, so even the most demanding passages sustain every note without drop-out. Second, the PHA-4 Standard keyboard includes true escapement (let-off) and Ivory Feel keytops with moisture-absorbing texture.

Keyboard and Touch — Expressive Control for Every Player

The keyboard is central to the HP702 White. Roland's PHA-4 Standard keyboard offers fast-key repetition and high-resolution sensing. The escapement mechanism reproduces the subtle let-off feel of a grand piano, while Ivory Feel surfaces keep fingers from slipping during long practice sessions.

• Keyboard: PHA-4 Standard, 88 keys, with Escapement and Ivory Feel — weighted, textured, and tuned for expressive dynamic range.
• Touch Sensitivity: 100 key-touch types plus 10 hammer-response settings — lets each player dial in the resistance that matches their style.
• Polyphony: Limitless on piano tones, 384 notes on other sounds — sustains complex chords and layered voices without truncation.

Sound Engine and Speaker System — Modeling, Not Just Sampling

Unlike most digital pianos that replay recorded samples, the HP702 White uses Roland's modeling technology to recreate how a piano actually produces sound. Combined with the Piano Designer app, players can adjust lid position, hammer noise, string resonance, damper resonance, and even cabinet resonance to shape their personal tone. The built-in speaker system delivers clear, balanced sound for everyday practice and casual performance.

• Sound Generator: SuperNATURAL Piano Modeling — physically modeled tone that responds dynamically to touch.
• Speakers: 2 × 12 cm (4-3/4") drivers built into the cabinet.
• Rated Power Output: 14 W + 14 W (28 W total) — enough output for a medium-sized room.
• Tones: 324 total, covering acoustic pianos, electric pianos, strings, organs, and more.

Pedals, Connectivity, and Learning Tools — A Complete Practice Hub

The HP702 White is built for serious practice as well as performance. Progressive Damper Action pedals enable half-pedaling techniques, while TwinPiano mode splits the keyboard for teacher-and-student or duet sessions. Bluetooth audio streams music from any phone or tablet through the piano's speakers, and Bluetooth MIDI connects to the Roland Piano App for score display, lesson tracking, and the One Week Master program.

• Pedals: Progressive Damper Action (Damper and Soft with continuous detection, Sostenuto function assignable) — supports half-pedaling and traditional acoustic techniques.
• Bluetooth: Audio Ver 3.0 + MIDI Ver 4.0 — wireless streaming and app integration.
• Learning System: 287 lesson songs (Hanon, Beyer, Burgmüller, Czerny 100), TwinPiano, built-in metronome, Do Re Mi lessons.
• Headphones: Headphones 3D Ambience — recreates the acoustic space of a concert hall for silent practice.
• Dimensions: 1,377 mm wide × 468 mm deep × 1,067 mm tall — compact footprint for any room.
• Weight: 54.4 kg including stand — sturdy yet movable.

Who the Roland HP702 White Is For

The Roland HP702 White is the right choice for intermediate and advanced home pianists who want a digital instrument that feels and behaves like an acoustic grand, without the maintenance, tuning, or space requirements. Beginners benefit from the built-in lesson library, TwinPiano mode, and the Roland Piano App, which turns a smartphone or tablet into an interactive score and progress tracker. Families will appreciate the Headphones 3D Ambience feature, which lets one player practise at any hour without disturbing others, while the Bluetooth audio streaming turns the piano into a high-quality home speaker when not in use. Players working through graded examinations will find the weighted PHA-4 action with escapement prepares them for the transition to an acoustic instrument, and the SuperNATURAL modeling engine rewards nuanced, expressive playing with a tone that responds dynamically to every touch.
