Nearfield Studio Monitor with Ribbon Tweeter Clarity

The ADAM Audio T5V is a compact two-way active nearfield monitor engineered for small control rooms. It pairs a 5" polypropylene woofer with the U-ART 1.9" accelerated ribbon tweeter — the same ribbon technology that anchors ADAM Audio's flagship S Series — to deliver a frequency response of 45 Hz to 25 kHz. This nearfield is the right choice for producers who want ribbon-tweeter detail and a wide stereo image in a desk-friendly cabinet.

What sets the T5V apart in the nearfield class

Two technologies borrowed from higher up the ADAM Audio range make this monitor stand out. Inside the U-ART accelerated ribbon tweeter is a folded diaphragm with a 4:1 velocity transform ratio, moving air roughly four times faster than a conventional dome tweeter. The HPS waveguide — shared with the S Series — keeps high-frequency energy uniform across a wide horizontal arc.

U-ART tweeter and 5" woofer — the heart of the T5V

The driver complement is the main reason this monitor sounds the way it does.

• Tweeter: U-ART 1.9" accelerated ribbon with HPS waveguide — reaches 25 kHz and pushes air 4× faster than a dome tweeter.
• For the woofer, a 5" polypropylene cone with 1" voice coil in a rear-firing bass-reflex port extends bass response down to 45 Hz.
• Crossover Frequency: 3 kHz — keeps the ribbon tweeter focused on the upper band.

70 W of Class D power with headroom to spare

Built-in PWM Class D amplification keeps the cabinet cool and efficient while delivering headroom for short-term peaks.

• Total RMS Power: 70 W — split as 50 W to the woofer and 20 W to the tweeter.
• Max SPL per pair at 1 m: ≥106 dB — enough volume for nearfield mixing.
• Max power consumption is 132 W, so the monitor stays only a few degrees above room temperature.

Inputs, room EQ, and footprint

Rear-panel connectivity and tuning controls make it easy to integrate this model into any small room.

• You can connect via Analog Inputs: XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced — ideal for audio interfaces, DACs, or computers.
• EQ: High Shelf > 5 kHz and Low Shelf < 300 Hz, each switchable between −2 dB / 0 dB / +2 dB.
• Dimensions & Weight: 298 × 179 × 297 mm, 5.7 kg — fits any desktop.

Who should buy the T5V

This model suits bedroom producers, project-studio engineers, podcast editors, and video post-production mixers seeking a ribbon-tweeter monitor at a nearfield price point. It’s also a strong candidate for those stepping up from entry-level speakers or needing a reliable secondary reference. Add the matching T10S subwoofer for extended low-end monitoring below 45 Hz.

ADAM Audio — Berlin-built ribbon tweeters since 1999

ADAM Audio has built its reputation around the Accelerated Ribbon Technology (ART) tweeter, a folded-diaphragm design descended from the original Air Motion Transformer concept. The T5V brings that ribbon heritage into the most affordable tier, using a U-ART tweeter derived from the X-ART and S-ART units. Assembled in Berlin, Germany, it carries a five-year warranty.
